I'm sort of upset I'm only discovering Dan Hillier's artwork now, because it is all sorts of amazing and the sort of work I enjoy the most. These images come from his series of "altered engravings." Similar to collages, they work off of familiar bases and ordinary images, but the combination of two (or three) yields something wholly new and in Dan Hillier's case--spooky. The creepy and surreal characters seem to have emerged from nightmares to wreak havoc in this world.
