Storybook Happiness

How sweet are these porcelain brooches by minini? Each little face looks like a storybook character and I love all the pastel shades they come in.

Dead Paper

We've been adding new collages to the collaboration art blog I collage for: Dead Paper and I'm excited to announce prints are now available for sale on Society 6. If there's a collage on Dead Paper you'd like to buy that isn't listed in the shop, e-mail me and I'll see if I can get it added.

All That Tread The Globe

I'm a sucker for large maps that cover an entire wall and outdated vintage globes that could be depicting Narnia for all their accuracy, so of course I like these personalized and re-visioned globes by imagine nations. I do not however appreciate their price tag, so I'm adding a similar DIY to my mental list, although I still have to invest in a regular old globe first.

Snow Battle

We're having marvelously mild weather here--no snow in sight! But for the sake of the season, here's a vintage snow battle from New York, 1939 via NYPL.

Brand New Critters

Karen Walker always has the best campaigns for their sunglass line. One year the models were vampires and this summer the shades are styled on mops and brooms. It's marvelously witty and still shows the stylish frames off to great effect. I would love to get my hands on more than one pair.

Common Sense Is The Collection Of Prejudices

I'm quite charmed by the collections in Katsuya Kamo's house which were recently photographed by the Selby. I find boxes of butterflies to be a little depressing, but don't empathize with beetles in the same way (no legitimate reason why), so the majority of these boxes are ones I would love to hang on my walls. I do hope to have a cluttered little apartment one day when I stop moving long enough to collect dust.

Rocks In The Box

These re-envisioned vintage rock collections are just so lovely. Taking vintage boxes, CoriKindred put a twist on tradition by labeling them with words inspired by the rock's shapes and colors. The end result: pretty, miniature collections perfect for a crowded bookcase.

Things You Do For Love

Antoshka as a Hussar, Moscow 2010: "Antoshka only agreed to do the shoot if we could do it with the girl he had a crush on. They met in school and acted in the same school play. For the shoot, he put on the costume he wore during the play. It was uncomfortably small, and even he didn’t like it too much himself…No matter how old or young you are, there are things you do for love."
