LFW Favorites

Just a few of my London Fashion Week favorites; collections keep coming out so fast and furious I barely have time to see them all, let alone process--I haven't even begun looking at Milan shows yet. I'm looking forward to re-visiting them in the coming months and getting more cognitive inspiration.

This Autumn Morning

fashion, <span class=Velvet dresses, tall socks, and comfy loafers are definitely going to be my fall uniform this year. This dress in particular is going to become a staple--I've been wanting it since I previewed her fall collection in February and was so excited when Nina gave it to me during our studio visit this season. I started wearing it immediately--in fact this outfit (sans socks) was what I wore to fly home in. To me, it's the perfect "comfort" outfit; each piece is easy and unrestrictive, but I also feel most comfortable in pieces that keep me feeling pulled-together.

Milly Spring 2012

For Spring 2012 the Milly girl is quirky and colorful; a girl "more interested in books than boys." I really enjoyed the energetic collection, especially the adorable accessories--fox brooches and bright cateye glasses? Yes, please! A little preppier than my usual taste, but full of fantastic pieces I'd love to emulate.

Masked Wonder

Modcloth Video Diary

While I was in New York for fashion week I shot some footage of my experience for Modcloth's blog. I was greatly helped by my fashion week partner in crime, Erin (who I would not be able to survive fashion week without!). Jon of the Modcloth team edited and put all the random clips together and viola, this video was born--complete with voice over! I'm not very fond of my voice, so nearly all of my videos don't have me talking and it will probably be quite awhile before you hear me again...

When No Fair Dreams Before My Mind's Eye Flit

"When by my solitary hearth I sit,
When no fair dreams before my - mind’s eye - flit,
And the bare heath of life presents no bloom;
Sweet Hope, ethereal balm upon me shed,
And wave thy silver pinions o’er my head.
Whene’er I wander, at the fall of night,
Where woven boughs shut out the moon’s bright ray,
Should sad Despondency my musings fright,
And frown, to drive fair Cheerfulness away,
Peep with the moon-beams through the leafy roof,
And keep that fiend Despondence far aloof."
