Book Bags

If I were going back to school, I'd probably invest in one of these tote bags or backpacks to carry all my books around in. The proper tote bag for my outfit was definitely a necessity in my college years; if I put the time into my ensemble, then the bag for my books had to coordinate with it. These particular ones are neutral enough to go with most outfits and look sturdy enough for textbooks.

Memory Is The Diary We All Carry About

One of the benefits of being petite is occasionally fitting into clothes from childhood...like sweatshirts your sister had when she was in elementary school. What can I say; it's a cool sweatshirt. I sadly, was never a girl scout, but I did live briefly in Nuremburg with my family (which is where my sister was a girl scout). Fall and winter always reminds me of Germany; I start craving all the amazing food and Christmas markets. I managed to visit Germany again during my study abroad in Greece a couple of years ago and the markets were as magical as I remembered experiencing as a child. I can't wait until we start filling our house (and my tummy) with lebkuchen and other seasonal treats.

Feeling Literary

Because there are few things lovelier than a shelf full of books, I bring you another "feeling literary" post featuring photographs by the selby. Past posts can be seen by clicking here.

Autumnal Glory

It seems fitting to begin October outfit posts in orange and black, although thankfully not a too literal interpretation of that seasonal combination. This outfit might just be autumn personified, even if the trees behind me haven't quite heard the cries around the northern hemisphere for fall color. A cold front blew in this weekend, so perhaps dying leaves aren't too far away (is it strange that we enjoy watching leaves die?). I'm pretty excited to start wearing tights again, because monochromatic legs and shoes are kind of amazing. Also, thanks to Chicwish I have another cape to add my collection. The buttons don't seem very secure, but I really like the fabric and haven't noticed any other flaws in construction.

Lauren Moffatt Spring 2012 Preview

<span class=While I was in New York for fashion week I requested a studio visit with Lauren Moffatt and happily she obliged. Erin and I were able to preview her new spring collection before nearly anyone else and I think it must be my favorite yet! Delicate star sequins and pretty crocheted dresses? Yes, please! I quite like her fall collection, but now I can't wait for spring to come to stores...

Scarf Saturday

For fall and winter (or until inspiration runs dry) I'll be sharing some scarf inspiration every Saturday. Tis the season to start bundling up (in the northern hemisphere), no?
